Hello June

It’s been a long time since I wrote last time. A two years to be exact. There are many reasons for it. šŸ¤”

Any way, since I decided to start blogging again I must start somewhere. I won’t be writing about all the passed months (years more like) because simply I don’t remember everything. Instead, I’m going to share my most recent makes.

Also, I’m going to do my best to post at least once a week. Starting from today. So let’s begin. She’ll we?

Since beginning of 2016 I become obsessed with art of crochet. Although my first experience with yarn and hook started way back in 1996. I was 14 years old and fascinated by all these beautiful doilies my mum and nana have made. My house was filled with crochet books and magazines and my mum was always eager to tried new pattern.

And this was my beginning. I still remember my first attempt to round doily, which was way too complicated and ambitious. The end result wasn’t great, but hey I’ve made my first doily.

After a while I’ve stopped crocheting for about 10 years. I know 10 YEARS.

Now, my crochet passion came back to me and here are the makes I’ve managed to complete during the month of June.

Not bad, 14 in total plus some other projects. But I will share them with you some other time.

Iphoneography/ Nursery Made with LoveĀ

It’s been a while since I finished twins nursery but I never had chance to photograph it before. Everything here have been made, recycled or upcycled.

It was 5 weeks, in total, of working hours, but I’m so happy the way nursery turned out.

Made with love to loveĀ

The last few weeks I’ve been working on new owl cushions. I wanted them to be cute, bright, happy and baby friendly. As a mum I know how fragile and sensitive kids are. Anything with wrong face mimic is big NO, NO.

For my first few owls I’ve used floral and polka dots, adding cute touch with felt flowers.

Another set is a matching bundle of strippy and spotty fabrics, in bright and light colours.

But  my last creation (only finish last night) makes me happy 100%. These owls are super adorable. I added wings and feet, and little name embroidered heart for very personal touch.

All cushions are available in my etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/YasminsMadewithLove

All cushions are in envelop designe what make them easy to take off and wash. All come with cushion pad. Also they can be personalised to suit.

Lots of love

Store your kids TreasuresĀ

Well I have to be honest, I looked for a perfect storage for all toys, my kids own, and I failed badly. First of all I spend lots of money on products made of card board, which looked pretty and had perfect size, but my almost 3 years old twins torned it to pieces whiting a week.

Then I bought big, plastic treasure chest, where I could hide all toys, but my little rascals chipped the corners and a chest become hazard. At the end, boxes ended in the bin.

Furthermore, I have tried a few felt, animal team, storage solution, but they got messy quite quickly, and after wash lost shape and felt wasn’t soft any longer.

All this drama around the storage solution let me think. Why don’t I make toy boxes for my kids? I didn’t think for long.

After few days of mastering product that is what I have created. Perfect, large toy storage, made out of polyester, which can be easy washed. Padded for extra softness, which mean safe for small children. Super specious, easy fits almost 3 years old.

My kids love it. They load them with lots of stuff, go in and out, pretend to pack for a holiday and carry them around the house.

I’ve made 10 large toy storage boxes, each in different colour and unique applications. All available in my etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/YasminsMadewithLove

My kids own 2 boxes each. We use them for storing a toys but they are also great for keeping clothes, towels, muslin or  nappies.

Go check store for more details and keep me posted what do you think.

Hello world!

This is my very first post. So let me introduce my self a little bit. My name is Yasmin. I’m originally from Poland, but I’m living in London. I’m married and have 2 children, twin boy and a girl. I’m passionate crafter and sewing addict.

Quite recently I have opened my Etsy store, where I offer handmade playmats, gifts, personalised cushions and accessory for little people and grown ups.

Idea to open the shop was born a year ago, after twins second birthday. For this occasion I made felt set breakfast and quiet book, for my daughter, and play mat for my boy. I watched them playing, creating and having so much fun. After that I made couple more mats  for family members and close friends and I noticed how much there were appreciated.
